About Caran Precision

About Caran Precision

For over 40 years Caran Precision Engineering and Manufacturing has broken the mold of what a stamping facility could be and what it can do. From the beginning we set out to meet the same rigid specifications and tolerances of machined parts with quality precision stamping, metal finishing and assembly.
Today, Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies know Caran Precision as a premier certified to ISO standards manufacturer and primary supplier of precision stampings. We consistently meet and exceed our customer's exact specifications and performance requirements.
Our reputation as an international leader in precision design has been earned the same way our metal-stamped components are produced: by stretching the limits.

Better Design
Caran's state-of-the-art tooling design system provides enhanced design and support to its in-house manufacturing of progressive and transfer tooling.
We can take any idea for a precision part from inspiration to production. Whether dies, tools or fixtures, the Caran Precision design department offers complete design assistance, engineering and technical support for each stage of the process.
Our highly skilled staff, which includes some of our industry's most respected engineers, designers and researchers, some at PhD-level, allows us to provide a full range of services, including research and development of new products and technologies.

Better Production
The Caran Precision Continuous Improvement Program allows us to replicate machined, impacted and forged prototypes with high volume, complex stampings that meet the most demanding tolerances, timelines and budgets.

With over 150 different presses with capabilities of 5 to 1,000 tons, we can produce components in material thicknesses of .005 to .150 inches. Our Minster 300 and 500-ton straight side, E-2 heavy stampers, and other straight side presses, give us unmatched versatility in producing larger, intricately detailed stampings with close tolerances in high volume. For secondary operation and subassembly, our 22 to 75-ton OBI presses can accommodate high volume runs with meticulous quality. We can form numerous shapes from a variety of materials, such as stainless steel, copper, carbon steel, zirconium, inconel, nickel and aluminum.

Better Solutions
The promise of Caran precision is clear: whatever anyone can do, we can do it better. We can produce components that match the tightest tolerances and budgets, we can turn around high volume orders within the shortest of lead times, and we can come up with new ideas or processes that can solve the most difficult problems.

But no matter what we have achieved to date - such as our success in conquering the manufacturing complexities of the laser-welded nuclear reactor fuel rod spacer - nothing is as important as that one component you must have produced.

Contact us for more information and discover how we can stretch the limits for you.

Better Quality
The Caran Quality Improvement Program has the approval of the world's most demanding companies. Caran Precision is certified to ISO standards and meets the requirements of Nuclear 10CFR50, Appendix B and NQA-1. We use Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), control plans, capability and product validation studies along with lean manufacturing and Kanban systems to meet every challenging requirement and exact specification. As part of our relentless drive to reach a zero defect level we also employ highly disciplined Six Sigma methodologies.

Our Quality Improvement program is all-encompassing; skilled inspectors carefully check every step of the manufacturing process, statistical process control implementation uses computer monitoring to maintain optimum precision and exact tolerances, and image analysis equipment is used to inspect and test production from prototype to final product.

Whether the job is extremely difficult or requires high volume production, Caran consistently comes closest to perfection.
